New Castle: 201 South 25th Street at the Transit (Bus) Station, Hours: 8am – 4pm Monday – Friday.
Lewisville: Behind the Fire Station at 302 North Market Street.
Mt. Summit: Back of Mt. Summit Park behind old school building at School and Walnut Streets.
Middletown: Behind Municipal building on Locust Street.
Mooreland: Behind grocery store at corner of Mills & Cory St.
New Lisbon: Beside Fire Dept./Post Office at Wilbur Wright Rd and 500 South.
Springport: Lot across from Post Office on Main Street
What can be recycled?
PLASTICS: #1 and #2 ONLY Examples: water and soda bottles, laundry detergent bottles, milk jugs, shampoo bottles(No Pumps), 2 liter bottles,Emptied and rinsed. Check the bottom of each container for the recycling triangle with the number inside; if it isn’t a 1 or 2, then it is NOT recyclable. Please take Walmart & Kroger sacks back to the store for recycling.
GLASS: Green, Brown and Clear bottles and jars, emptied and rinsed.
METAL: Aluminum, Steel and Metal food cans, must be emptied and rinsed.
PAPER: Paper, paperboard boxes (cereal), junk mail, telephone books, magazines, hardback books (cover must be removed, it is not recyclable) catalogs, newspapers and corrugated cardboard. NO food debris or wet cardboard.
Items we CANNOT Accept at Our Public Recycling Sites:
Trash/rubbish, incandescent light bulbs, window panes, mirrors, ceramics, motor oil containers, anti-freeze containers, carpet, heat sensitive fax paper, napkins, paper towels, Kleenex, toilet paper, paper plates, cardboard w/food debris, building materials, yard waste, chemicals, electronics, and appliances.
Please be respectful of the sites and NEVER leave anything on the ground; this is considered illegal dumping and punishable by up to a $2500 fine
If an item is not on the above list, then it is not recyclable in our area.
